----- MIDVALE GRADE 9 SCIENCE CLASSES -----
Utah Science Core
BIOLOGYCourse Information
The Biology coarse will focus on the basic unit of life: cells and the organization of cells from simple single-celled organisms, up to multi-celled organisms and their interactions in the environment. DNA and heredity will be addressed, and the theory of evolution as we investigate the methods of trait transfer from parent to offspring. |
EARTH SYSTEMSCourse Information
The theme for Earth Systems is systems as an organizing concept to understand life on Earth, geological change, and the interaction of atmosphere, hydrosphere, and biosphere. Earth Systems will provide students with an understanding of how the parts of a system interact. The concept of matter cycling and energy flowing is used to help understand how systems on planet Earth are interrelated. |
